House destroyed in Hubbardton blaze Monday

Firefighters battled a tough blaze on Old Ti Road in Hubbardton on Monday morning, as well as a long icy road which made truck access difficult until sand trucks arrived and chains were put on fireengine tires. Some firefighters walked up the slippery road. It is the second fire this month to burn down a home in Hubbardton. A home on Delancey Road burned down Jan. 11. A column of smoke from this morning's fire could be seen miles away. Popping noises came from the home as firefighters tried to quell the blaze with water.
