    Edwin A. Herrick Jr.

    WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — Edwin A. Herrick Jr., 76, died Jan. 29, 2012, at Sweetbrook Nursing Home in Williamstown, following a long illness.

    He was born in North Adams, April 14, 1935, the son of Edwin A. and Nellie Margaret (Coulter) Herrick Sr.

    He graduated in 1954 from Williamstown High School. After high school, he worked for Mount Hope Farms in Williamstown.

    Mr. Herrick served in the Army during peacetime from 1958 until 1960.

    He was also employed for 10 years as caretaker at Lawrence Bloedel Farms and for 15 years at Williamstown National Bank.

    He was a member of Williamstown Methodist Church and Williamstown Grange.

    Mr. Herrick enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and raising African violets.

    Survivors include his wife, the former Esther Howes, whom he married July 25, 1964, in Ashfield; a son, Dennis Herrick of New Hampshire; and several cousins.

    The memorial service will be held at a later date.

    Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

    Memorial contributions may be made to North Adams Adult Day Care Center, in care of Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
