BELLOWS FALLS — Windham Northeast Supervisory Union teachers will stage an informational picket today, urging school district boards to reach an agreement on a contract. The picket will take place at 3:15 p.m. outside the supervisory union’s office at 25 Cherry St. in Bellows Falls.
WNESU teachers have been working without a contract since June 30. Bellows Falls Union High School teacher and WNESU spokeswoman Erica Moody said “it’s long past time” the district negotiates a contract with the teachers.
“We must stop spending money on a protracted negotiation process and instead put the money into investing in our schools through a settlement that is fair to us, fair to our communities and good for our students,” Moody said. “We urge the boards to reach a settlement with us now. While we’ve been in the classrooms without a contract for seven months, our patience is not without limitation.”
The WNESU represents 172 teachers at schools in Bellows Falls, Athens, Grafton, Rockingham, Saxtons River, and Westminster.2 CommentsMORE IN This Just InEAST MONTPELIER — A Vermont high school student has been accused of making two bomb threats at...
