SPRINGFIELD — Two additional suspects in the Connecticut River Valley burglary ring have been arrested, according to police.
Springfield police announced that Lawrence Neilsen, 22, of Keene, N.H., turned himself in to the Charlestown, N.H., Police Department on Monday night. Neilsen is a suspect in several Springfield burglaries, police said. He was charged with aiding in the commission of a felony.
Neilsen was cited to appear in Windsor County criminal court on April 10.
Vermont State Police announced that the seventh suspect in the burglary ring, Logan Critchfield, 21, whose last known address was in Walpole, N.H., was arrested Tuesday afternoon at a Keene, N.H., apartment.
The owner of the apartment, William Monty, 22, was also arrested and charged with hindering apprehension.
Critchfield had been under surveillance at Monty’s Summit Road apartment since Monday afternoon, when police received a tip about Critchfield’s whereabouts.
At a press conference Monday afternoon in Putney, police from both Vermont and New Hampshire said Critchfield was one of seven area men wanted in connection with 100 burglaries — 60 in Vermont, 30 in New Hampshire and the balance in Maine, Massachusetts and one in Virginia.
Police said there was a Virginia warrant for Critchfield’s arrest.
Critchfield was held for being a fugitive from justice from Vermont. He is also a suspect in a burglary in Gilsum, N.H.
Police said the group of burglars targeted small businesses without alarm systems, hitting the businesses between 2 and 5 a.m. and usually taking cash and small, non-traceable items.2 CommentsMORE IN This Just InSuspicious fire in Springfield Friday.
