State police have charged three more people in connection with a drug bust at a city motel that led to the arrest of a New York man last week.
Members of the Vermont Drug Task Force who executed a search warrant on room 16 of the Pine Tree Lodge in Rutland found four people in the room along with 7.9 grams of crack cocaine and about 4.7 grams of heroin.
A day after the Jan. 31 raid, 23-year-old Jermael Middleton, of College Point, N.Y., pleaded innocent to charges of heroin trafficking and possession of cocaine. He remains jailed on $200,000 bail.
A week later, state police announced charges against the other three people in the motel room — each of whom was issued a citation to appear in court for arraignment on April 2.
Police arrested Adam Cijka, 33, of Rutland, Douglas Williams, 37, of Rutland, and Mary Labas, 32, of Rutland. All three were charged with possessing heroin and crack cocaine, state police said.
In addition, police said they issued a citation to Middleton to appear in court on April 2 to answer to a charge of violating his probation.2 CommentsMORE IN This Just InSuspicious fire in Springfield Friday.
