Two members of the Killington Select Board voted Tuesday to keep the name of the town’s tourism department the same. After being presented with a number of name change considerations — from the office of public affairs to the office of marketing and special events — Jim Haff and Bernie Rome decided to keep the municipal department called The Economic Development and Tourism Department.
“The town voted, in 2008, for the EDT. That’s what they voted on, that’s what we have,” Haff said Wednesday.
The topic was discussed at the Board’s regular meeting Tuesday night. The meeting was shorter than normal, only lasting about two hours. Select Board Chairman Chris Bianchi was absent.
Haff and Rome also decided to put off the replacement of the town vehicle. According to Seth Webb, interim town manager, the car has nearly 100,000 miles on it and the town was looking to trade it in.
The car is used as a pool car by staff for official meetings, inspections and town business.2 CommentsMORE IN This Just InSuspicious fire in Springfield Friday.
