WEST RUTLAND — Police have arrested Christopher McCarthy, 42, of Rutland in connection with an armed robbery of the West Rutland Rite Aid on Saturday.
The robbery took place around 4:15 in the afternoon, police said, when a lone white male suspect presented a note to the pharmacist demanding prescription drugs. The suspect indicated that he had a weapon, but none was seen during the incident. The pharmacy turned over an unspecified amount of prescription medication and the suspect fled.
State Police, along with the Rutland County Sherriff, responded and canvassed the area in a search for the suspect. They found and arrested McCarthy around 8:20 p.m., and he was lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Center for lack of $75,000 bail.2 CommentsMORE IN This Just InSuspicious fire in Springfield Friday.
