BRATTLEBORO — Nine anti-nuclear protesters, members of the Shut-It-Down Affinity Support Group, were arrested Monday at the corporate offices of Entergy Nuclear.
Brattleboro police said the women, which included four women from Vermont and five women from Massachusetts, were told they were trespassing and when they didn’t leave, were arrested.
Police said the protesters did not enter any buildings at the corporate office complex. In December, protesters were able to enter the same building through an unlocked door. Charges stemming from that protest were later dismissed by Judge David Suntag for lack of probable cause.
Brattleboro police said the women were issued citations to appear in Brattleboro criminal court on March 27.
Those arrested include Vermonters Martha Hennessy, 56, of Perkinsville; Robin Lloyd, 73, of Burlington; Nina Swaim, 73, Sharon; and Harriet Nestel, 73, of Brattleboro.
Others arrested include Frances Crowe, 92, of Northampton, Mass., Susan Lantz, 71, also of Northampton, Anneke Corbett, 69, of Florence, Mass., and Marcia Gagliardi, 64, of Athol, Mass.
