March 01,2012
CASLTETON — Tony Peffer, dean of undergraduate studies at Castleton State College, was promoted to the college’s new academic dean.
College President David Wolk made the announcement to students, faculty and staff on Tuesday. The promotion follows the impending retirement of Joe Mark this summer.
Peffer arrived at Castleton as associate academic dean in 2007 after serving as associate dean at Ohio University Eastern. Prior to that, he taught at various institutions, including Lakeland College and the University of Chicago.
Peffer received a doctorate in history at Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s degree from San Francisco State University and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. His undergraduate degree is from Morehead State University.
The new academic dean is currently the editor of the Journal of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness and is also editing the history of Castleton to celebrate the college’s 225th anniversary later this year.
