Concerts set in Ludlow, Springfield

The Springfield Community Chorus will perform two concerts in Ludlow and Springfield this weekend.
The chorus, now in its 45th year, will perform tonight at 7 p.m. at the Ludlow Town Hall Theater on 39 Depot St. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church at 77 Main St.
The chorus will sing a variety of genres at both concerts. They include Richard Wagner’s the “Pilgrim’s Chorus” from Tannhauser; Giuseppe Verdi’s “Anvil Chorus” from Il Trovatore; Giacomo Puccini’s “Butterfly’s Entrance” from Madame Butterfly; Petro Mascagni’s “The Easter Chorus” from Cavalleria Rusticana; and songs from “Hello Dolly,” “The Music Man,” “West Side Story,” and “Les Miserables.”
The Springfield Community Chorus is directed by Ken Olsson, who is now in his second season and pianist Vladimir Odinokikh will accompany the chorus during the performances.
The concerts are free to the public and donations are accepted.
