Cindy Reynolds poses for a photo inside her new florist shop, The Rose Petal, on State Street in Rutland.
After 26 years with the Heritage Family Credit Union, Cindy Reynolds decided to pursue her passion: flowers.

“I’ve been doing it for 20 years off and on for friends and family and I always wanted my own flower shop,” Reynolds said.

Her shop, The Rose Petal, at 105½ State Street, opens Tuesday.

She said her shop is ideal for someone who wants to pick up a fresh bouquet of flowers. Reynolds also makes floral arrangements for weddings, birthdays and other special occasions.

The shop carries a standard assortment of flowers: roses, carnations and daisies.

There is no FTD service but Reynolds said she’ll deliver locally, if asked.

During the winter, she specializes in making holiday wreaths.

Rose Petal is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
