Alice B. Durovich

SPRINGFIELD — Alice Belle (Phelps) Durovich, 84, died on June 16, 2012. She was born on April 19, 1928, in Chittenden, Vermont, graduated from Barstow High School and served 17 years as the executive director of the American Red Cross Springfield Chapter. She enjoyed being a student and steward of nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis D. Phelps Sr. and Alice R. (Lathrop) Phelps; two brothers, John Phelps and Charles R. Phelps Sr.; three sisters, Bertha Clark, Mary Loomis and Mildred Goodrich; and her husband of 58 years, John Durovich.

She is survived by her son, Christopher J. (Christina) Durovich of Dallas; brother Louis D. Phelps Jr. of Pittsford and sister Faith Pratt of Pittsford; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Springfield United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Springfield United Methodist Church, 10 Valley St., Springfield, VT 05156; or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vermont.
