Claudette Q. Parker of Rutland passed away July 2nd, 2012, at 5:11 p.m., peacefully surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. Born March 17th, 1938, in Leicester, Vt.,she was the daughter of Blanche (Larocque) and Eli Quesnel.
Claudette attended Christ the King and MSJ, graduating with the class of 1956. She was married to Howard F. Parker on August 4th of 1956. Together, they established Parker’s Texaco and Claudette’s Bed and Bath.
She enjoyed many hobbies which included researching her family tree, locating relatives dating back from earlier than the 1700s. She loved cross-stitching, sewing, quilting and spending time with her two daughters and her five grandkids. She absolutely loved speaking French with all of her siblings and anyone who knew more than “Bonjour!” She also enjoyed camping, and especially loved fishing with her husband Howie. ;) She always made holidays special for her family, especially Christmas. She created many memories and traditions that her daughters and grandkids will carry on for years to come.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howie; daughters, Michelle D. Lake (husband Gary), Kathy A. Wierzbicki (husband Tim);grandchildren, Eric T. Lake (wife Jessica) of Rutland, Stephanie M. Lake (fiance Anderson Leandro) of Philadelphia, Lauren Wierzbicki (soul mate Justin Davis) and T.J. Wierzbicki, both of Rutland, Nicole D. Lake of Philadelphia; also survived by two great-grandchildren, Maya Cristina Leandro and Eli Thomas Lake, named after his great-great-grandfather, Eli Quesnel; also survived by her sister, Lena Polzello (husband Richard) of Fairfield, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother and father;two brothers, John Quesnel and Henry Quesnel;seven sisters, Alma Phillips (husband Harry), Jeanette O’Brien (husband Ronald), Eva Layden (husband Pee Wee), Beatrice Snee (husband Marshall), Anita Brooks (husband Brooksie),Therese (who passed at infancy) and Marina Todisco (husband Frank).
There will be no public calling hours.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5th, 2012, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Aldous Funeral Home.
