BENNINGTON — James T. “Jim” Lernihan, 87, died July 9, 2012, at home.
Born April 9, 1925, in St. Albans, Queens, N.Y., he was raised in Queens and joined the Navy in World War II.
After military discharge, Mr. Lernihan began a long career in sales, retiring in 1987 from Huntington (Ind.) Laboratories. He and his wife, Gloria, established Stonewalls Antiques of Dorset.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years; two daughters, Moira Spivey of Manchester and Marlene Horan of Newport, R.I.; three granddaughters; and a sister, Elizabeth O’Hara of Maryland.
He was predeceased by a son, Shaun Lernihan, in 1979.
In accordance with Mr. Lernihan’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
