SOUTH BURLINGTON — Former University of Vermont hockey star and more recently National Hockey League All Star Martin St. Louis returns to Vermont this week to receive an alumni achievement award from the UVM Alumni Association.
St. Louis, who has spent 11 of his 13 NHL seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning, has been an NHL All Star six times and is known as one of the hardest-working players in the league.
During the 1990s, he was a leader on the UVM squad for four years, and key to the team reaching the Frozen Four hockey semi-finals in 1996.
St. Louis is to receive the award on Monday at 12:45 at the annual Catamount Golf Classic at the Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington.
