BURLINGTON — Records show that a former Vermont state trooper accused of falsifying his time sheets put in for 374 hours of pay for four weeks in June.
The Burlington Free Press reported the hours after filing a Vermont Public Records request for former Sgt. James Deeghan.
Deeghan pleaded not guilty to false claims regarding the June time sheets.
The records show Deeghan worked 172 hours from June 3 to June 16, and 202 hours from June 17 to June 30. Each pay period included his normal 90 hours. Entries were listed for being on call, administrative time, responding to a burglar alarm and other incidents, and handling a patrol contract in Jericho.
A supervisor signed the time sheets.
Investigators were meeting with Jericho officials to discuss the contract.
