Janet Angeline Alexander, 92, of Rutland and formerly of Clarendon, died Thursday,July 19, 2012, at Rutland Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness.
She was born July 4, 1920,in Windsor, the daughter Eli and Mary (Vilnauve) Robideau.
She marred Carl S. Alexander Nov. 9, 1941.
Mrs. Alexander was employed as a housekeeper by the Bardwell Hotel and by several area restaurants.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Ladies of the Moose and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include five children, Mary Forrest of Shrewsbury, Geraldine Alexander of Vergennes, Carl Alexander Jr. of New York, Joseph Alexander of East Clarendon and William Alexander of Shoreham; three sisters, Eline Turgeon of Windsor, Louise Thomas of Bradford and Theresa Messler of Randolph; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1980, a grandson, a sister and four brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in the East Clarendon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Aldous Funeral Home.
