Arnold J. LaRock

FOREST DALE — Arnold John “A.J.” LaRock, 70, died Monday, July 16, 2012.

He was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Richford, the son of Phyllis (Bishop) and Arnold J. LaRock Sr.

He attended Brandon schools and graduated from the University of Vermont.

Mr. LaRock spent a lengthy career in Vermont as a teacher, principal, and retired as superintendent of schools. Following retirement, he joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher and deputy sheriff, and later worked as a ranger for the Army Corps of Engineers at Union Village in Thetford.

He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include four children, Lisa Beaulieu, Elizabeth Lounder, Trevor and James LaRock; three siblings, Ronald, David and Pamela LaRock; six granddaughters; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Maurice “Moe” LaRock.

At his request, there will be no calling hours.

The memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at Grace Episcopal Church in Forest Dale.

In lieu of flowers,Mr. LaRock requested that friends and relatives feed the birds, visit Silver Lake in Goshen or hug someone who is lonely.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
