DUMMERSTON — A 21-year-old and a minor were arrested at an underage drinking party in Dummerston on Thursday.

Police received a report of a party on Sunset Lake Road where people were yelling and setting off fireworks. They arrested Cody John Balin, 21, of Dummerston and Christopher Conforti, 20, of Brattleboro.

The party took place at Balin’s home, according to State Trooper Travis Valcourt. Balin denied a consent to search the home and criminal Court in Brattleboro issued a search warrant.

Police found four other individuals hiding inside and Balin was charged furnishing alcohol to minors and enabling consumption. Conforti was charged with underage drinking. Three other individuals were sent to diversion for alcohol consumption, police said.

Balin and Conforti will be arraigned at criminal court in Brattleboro Oct. 16.
