WOODFORD — Firefighters say a two-story home on a mountain road in Woodford is a total loss following a fire in which no one was injured.
The fire was reported at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
Bennington Rural Fire Chief Joseph Hayes said the fire was fully involved by the time crews arrived about 15 minutes later because of the time it took to get up the mountain.
The Bennington Banner reports (http://bit.ly/OlIyho) about half of the structure remained standing afterward. An excavator was called to knock down the remnants.
