Police investigate attempted stick-up at store
September 06,2012
BURLINGTON — Police say a stick-up did not go as planned at a convenience store in Burlington.
Police say two women attempted to take money from the Rotary Mart in Burlington recently.
Police said one woman flashed what she said was a gun and demanded cash from the clerk. But police said the clerk confronted her — asking if the gun was real — and pushed her out of the store.
They said a second woman then threatened the clerk with a knife before the two suspects took off in a silver or blue sedan.
Police recovered a fake gun and the sunglasses worn by the first suspect.
