MENDON — Randi S. Moelter, 59, died Sept. 28, 2012, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was born on January 6, 1953, in Stillwater, Minn., the daughter of Harvey and LaVonne (Randall) Moelter.
Randi grew up in Stillwater, Minn., where she graduated from the local high school, where she was active in high school football, baseball and choir and was selected to join the elite Vagabonds singing group.
Following undergraduate study at University of Minnesota in Duluth, Minn., she graduated from the Logan College of Chiropractic and University Programs in Chesterfield, Mo., and had done extensive postgraduate studies in the areas of chiropractic, orthopedics and nutrition studies.
Randi moved to Rutland in 1976 where she established the Moelter Chiropractic and Wellness Clinic on North Main Street that she ran until her health declined.
She was married to Marie Charlton on May 24, 1986.
She was very passionate about her chiropractic and wellness care of all her loyal patients that she loved very dearly and freely gave of her time and knowledge to all who came for help. Randi had a great sense of humor and helped everyone to laugh, and embraced her family with joy and memories that were created through her love of giving and caring.
Randi had been active with the Cairo Shriners and was a member of the Waverly Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Wallingford which merged with and became the Gilman Chapter Order of Eastern Star in West Rutland.
She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Proctor-Pittsford Country Club, Rutland Kiwanis Club, Rutland Referral Group, as well as several professional groups including the Vermont Chiropractic Association and the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedics as a diplomat, and was a member of the American Council of Applied Clinical Nutrition Foundation, with the Distinction Title, Fellow F.A.C.A.C.N.
Randi enjoyed golfing, skiing, traveling, music and motorcycle riding; she loved raising and showing Shelties.
Survivors include her wife, Marie Moelter of Mendon; a daughter, Megan Moelter of St. Paul, Minn.; three stepsons, Daniel Austin of San Jose, Calif., Christopher Austin and Avery Austin, both of Safford, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Mariah Austin, Avery Austin, Rose Austin and Christopher Austin; a sister, DeeAnn Read of Brooklyn, Minn.; a brother, Kevin Moelter of Houlton, Wis.; two aunts, Lone Johnson of Columbia, S.C., Dolly Grafenstein of Stillwater, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Gary Moelter.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012, at the Trinity Episcopal Church. A reception will follow in the church hall.
The burial and a celebration of life service will be in Stillwater, Minn., at a later date.
There will be no public calling hours.
