DANVILLE — Vermont State Police say a lost hunter who spent the night in the woods was found by search crews in Danville.

Police say 33-year-old Trevor Barrett was found alive and well Friday morning.

He had headed out from Danville at about 2 p.m. Thursday to McIndoe Falls in Barnet. He called his girlfriend around 7 p.m. to say he was lost and his cellphone battery was dying.

Search crews and volunteers looked for him through the evening and into morning. A member of the Caledonia County Sheriff’s Department team found him around 8:30 Friday morning.
