    Dr. Thomas M. Richardson

    SUDBURY Dr. Thomas M. Richardson, 78, died unexpectedly Oct. 10, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

    He was born in Malvern, OH, Jan. 30, 1934, son of John W. and Alma (Jordan) Richardson.

    He was a US Air Force, Korean War Veteran stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

    Dr. Richardson was a former Newton, MA, resident, moving to Sudbury in 1981.

    He was an avid fan of Boston sports.

    Dr. Richardson was an Ophthalmologist at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, MA, and Circle Eye Care in Rutland and Brandon.

    He was also a published glaucoma research scientist.

    Surviving are his wife, Dianna H. (Ausprunk) Richardson of Sudbury; son, Kevin T. (Karen) Richardson of Wakefield, MA; daughter, Sheryl A. Grumney of Virginia Beach, VA; brother, William E. (Janet) Richardson of Waynesburg, OH; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Clark and Louise (Comer) Biggums both of Canton, OH; 6 grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

    He was predeceased by a brother and 3 sisters, John Richardson Jr., Lucille Kelly, Velia Williams and Eleanor Williams.

    A remembrance of his life will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Clifford Funeral Home.

    Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
