POWNAL — A local man was arrested Saturday afternoon for allegedly stealing a mini-motorcycle and a bicycle from his neighbor’s barn, according to Vermont State Police.

A resident on Route 346 called police at 5:16 p.m. on Saturday to report the theft.

The owner told police that she followed tracks left by the motorcycle to a trailer located in the nearby Burdick trailer park and the motorcycle and bike were in plain view on the property, police said.

The owner of the trailer, Ryan Cote, 27, allegedly admitted to stealing the bike and the motorcycle.

He was arrested on a charge of burglary and issued a citation to appear in Bennington criminal court in December.
