    Lois A. Purrington

    WHITEHALL, N.Y. — Lois A. Purrington, 72, of Mountain Street, passed away into the arms of the Lord on October 21, 2012, at home.

    Born on July 5, 1940, in Poultney, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Louise (Billings) Jones.

    Lois loved spending time with her loving family and her precious dog, Coco, attending family reunions, cooking and Facebooking.

    She was predeceased by her parents and one sister, Mavis Swartley, and one brother, Clinton Jones.

    She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Bruce Purrington; son Keith Thomas and his wife Kim, daughter Melissa Langley, daughter Linda Oldenburg and her husband Mitch, and daughter Deanne Thomas; stepchildren Alan Purrington and his wife Diane, Tammy Pearsall and her husband Mike, Debbie Wilson and her husband Tim and Lisa Hackney and her husband Tim; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters Linda Sprague and her husband Curtis and Sarah Jane Jones, and brothers Phil Jones and Gilbert Jones and his wife Donna, as well as several nieces and nephews.

    There will be no calling hours.

    A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, at Faith Chapel Assembly of God, 9823 State Route 4 in Whitehall, N.Y., with a gathering immediately following.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the “American Cancer Society” with a notation that the donation is for Hope Lodge, c/o Burlington Hope Lodge, 237 East Ave., Burlington, VT 05401.

    Arrangements are under the direction of the Jillson Funeral Home Inc., 46 Williams St., Whitehall, NY 12887.
