Rutland City Police say a series of car break-ins and vandalisms on State Street and Evergreen Avenue last month were committed by a 17-year-old who is facing multiple criminal charges.
The officer who handled the case — damage or thefts involving more than a dozen cars parked on the two city streets — did not identify the teenager in a written release.
On Sept. 22, police were called to the two streets where a number of vehicle tires had been slashed while others had been broken into.
On Oct. 22, police issued a criminal citation to the 17-year-old charging him with two felony counts of unlawful mischief, seven misdemeanor counts of unlawful mischief and one misdemeanor charge of petit larceny.
More charges are pending, police said.
