BENNINGTON — Former Wisconsin senator and co-chairman for President Obama’s reelection campaign Russ Feingold will participate in a series of classroom discussions, presentations and interviews at Bennington College on Tuesday and a community-wide discussion is scheduled in the Student Center on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Known for leading the fight for campaign finance reform in the U.S. Senate by cosponsoring the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act, commonly known as the “McCain–Feingold Act,” Feingold represented Wisconsin in the Senate for 18 years. Serving on the judiciary, foreign relations, budget and intelligence committees, he was the only senator to vote against the Patriot Act and was the first senator to propose a timetable to exit Iraq.

The Wednesday event is free and open to the public.
