SHAFTSBURY — Jean Allyson Howe, 86, died Tuesday, Sept.25, 2012, at Bennington Health & Rehabilitation.
Born in Eagle Bridge, N.Y., Oct.13, 1925, she was the daughter of Earl and Martha (Eddy) Charlestream.
She married James Allen Howe in Bennington Jan.12, 1947.
In earlier years, Mrs.Howe was employed at Hoy Manufacturing and Prospect Nursing Home.She later provided elder care to families in the Bennington, Cambridge, N.Y., and Shushan, N.Y., areas.
Survivors besides her husband include a son, James Howe of Shaftsbury; a grandson; a sister, Lois Holton of Bennington; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Joan Morehouse; a sister, Alyce Hoffmeister, and a brother, Norman Charlestream.
The memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Seventh Day Adventist Church on Houghton Lane.
