Author to talk at Maple Street School on Saturday
MANCHESTER - Jeffrey Toobin, a staff writer for the New Yorker, senior legal analyst for CNN and the author of “The Oath,” will be at the Maple Street School on Saturday to talk about the book as part of the Northshire Bookstore’s “Off the Shelf” series.
Toobin will be interviewed by Joe Donahue, of WAMC/Northeast Public Radio, for “Off the Shelf: Authors in Conversation,” in which Donahue, of “The Book Show,” speaks with the author live onstage. The conversation is taped and later aired on WAMC, reaching thousands of listeners.
“The Oath,” is an insider’s account of the momentous ideological war between the John Roberts Supreme Court and the Obama administration.
Toobin’s book looks inside the court and gives readers an insight into the personalities of the justices and the principles at stake in cases involving the right to bear arms, employment discrimination and campaign finance reform.
Toobin’s prize-winning bestseller, “The Nine,” also examined the U.S. Supreme Court.
This event at Maple Street School will start at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. For information about tickets, call the Northshire at 362-2200 or 800-437-3700, visit the store or check the website at www.northshire.com.
