EAST MONTPELIER — A Marshfield man told Vermont State Police he fell asleep at the wheel before rolling his vehicle on Route 2 in East Montpelier Thursday night.
Gary Bigelow, 41, was driving east near the junction of Route 14 South when his 1998 Chevrolet S-10 left the roadway, struck a shed and rolled down an embankment before coming to rest in the nearby river.
Bigelow was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. He was issued a traffic violation.
