    Bernard P. Haley Sr.

    Bernard P. Haley Sr., 90, died Nov. 17, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

    He was born in Proctor, Dec. 22, 1921, the son of John W. and Helen (Carrigan) Haley.

    He was a Proctor High School graduate and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

    Mr. Haley married Joan A. Hamilton Sept. 13, 1949.

    He was employed at Haley’s Market in Proctor and Proctor Coal Co. for 34 years, retiring in 1985.

    He was a member of St. Dominic’s Church.

    Survivors include his wife of Rutland; three children, Bernard Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., Patricia Hemple, Joanne Haley, both of Rutland, and Kathleen Cain of Center Rutland; four grandchildren and a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

    Mr. Haley was predeceased by a grandson and six siblings, Joseph, James, John, Thomas, Catherine and Helen Haley.

    The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at St. Dominic’s Church in Proctor.

    Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Proctor.

    There are no calling hours.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Vermont Diabetes Association, in care of Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington St., Rutland, VT 05701.
