    NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — Stanton T. “Yogi” Jaeger, 71, of the Township of Washington, N.J., and North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 15, 2012.

    Beloved husband of Nancy (née Kunz) for 40 years;

    Devoted father of Kevin Jaeger and Kimberly DeNobile and her husband David;

    Loving grandfather of Adrianna and Brianna DeNobile;

    Dear brother of Doreen Thomas and husband Joseph and Thomas Jaeger and wife Helen;

    Also survived by his mother-in-law, Eleanor Kunz, sister-in-law Barbara Higgins and husband Patrick and brother-in-law Stephen Kunz and wife Karen;

    Cherished uncle of many devoted nieces and nephews and their spouses and children.

    Stan grew up in Oradell, N.J., and Middletown Springs, Vt. A graduate of Al Somer’s Umpire School in Daytona Beach, Stan “Yogi” went on to umpire in the minor leagues before joining the U.S. Navy and serving for six years. He then worked as an insurance agent and later manager with both Metropolitan and Prudential insurance companies. Stan coached his son’s Little League teams in Washington Township, N.J., and worked as a referee and official in Oradell, N.J. After retiring, Stan became an avid golfer and a baseball scout. He loved to go swimming and loved the beach. A sports fanatic, Stan was a lifelong Yankees fan and a proud supporter of the N.Y. Rangers and of the University of Miami Hurricanes. He was an original N.Y. Jets season ticket holder and was fortunate to have had the opportunity to see the Jets win the 1969 Super Bowl in person.

    Funeral Mass 10 a.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 21) at Our Lady of Good Counsel R. C. Church, Washington Township, N.J. Interment in Cemetery of the Ascension, Airmont, N.Y. Visitation was 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 20) at the Robert Spearing Funeral Home Inc., 155 Kinderkamack Road, Park Ridge, N.J., www.rsfhi.com.
