    MIDDLEBURY — Pauline A. (Jewett) Orvis, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.

    She was born May 28, 1944, in Montpelier, the daughter of Carlisle and Edythe Alexander Jewett.

    She graduated from Montpelier High School and Champlain College.

    She was a resident of Starksboro for many years, where she was a 4H leader, a health officer and belonged to the Starksboro Women’s Circle.

    She also owned the Squirrel Nest Restaurant in Bristol for many years.

    She recently lived in Middlebury.

    Survivors include two sons, Randall Orvis of Bridport, and William Orvis of Middlebury; two grandchildren; a brother, Raymond, of South Burlington; two nieces and a nephew; and two close cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanette, and a sister, Nedra Orvis.

    A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Bristol. Interment will be at a later date.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem School House, Attn. Nancy Orvis, Jim Dwire Road, Starksboro, VT 05443.
