If our industrial-sized windmills continue to be built on our Vermont mountains with the consequent leveling of our ridges and the blasting of 65-foot holes to fill with cement in order to support those monsters, our state slogan, “The Green Mountain State,” will no longer apply.

As a fundraiser for the state, how about a contest to replace it? As a starter, I suggest the following new slogan to entice the tourists: Visit Vermont, “The Gray Rubble State.”
