    Film screening downtown tonight

Cafe Terra in downtown Rutland is hosting a film screening and discussion at 7 p.m. tonight.

Sponsored by Vermont Psychiatric Survivors, the event will feature a screening of “Crooked Beauty: Navigating the Space Between Brilliance and Madness,” a documentary that chronicles artist-activist Jack McNamara’s transformative journey from childhood abuse to psychiatric ward inpatient to pioneering mental health advocacy.

The film helps reshape mental health stigmas through a new healing culture and political model for living madness as a tool of creativity, inspiration and hope.

Following the screening, there will be a 30-minute discussion.

Cafe Terra is located at 67 Center St. in downtown Rutland.
