EAST POULTNEY — Margie Jones, 84, of East Poultney died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at the Rutland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rutland.
She was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Poultney, the daughter of Walter Craft and Alta Bessie (Taggart) McIntyre.
She graduated from Poultney High School in 1946.
She was employed by the Kazon Dress Factory for several years, prior to working at Sagers Nursing Home in Fair Haven. She retired from Sagers following 32 years of employment.
She enjoyed attending events for her grandchildren and feeding the birds.
Survivors include two daughters, Betsy Kelley and Sherry Davis, and two sons, Gary Jones and Terry Jones, all of East Poultney; three sisters, Gladys Seamans of East Poultney, Alice Botsford of South Poultney, and Helen Hayes of Gouverneur, N.Y.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chester Jones in 1988; two sisters, Lillian Mead in 2011, and Cecly White in 2012; three brothers, Richard McIntyre in 2009, Walter McIntyre in 2010, and Dayton McIntyre in 2007.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven. Burial will be at a later date in the Poultney Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday, Jan. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
