    James F. Mason

POULTNEY — James F. “Jim” Mason, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Orange, N.J., the son of Edward and Mary (O’Brien) Mason.

After attending West Orange High School, he entered the National Guard and served in the Korean conflict with the U.S. Army, being honorably discharged in 1952.

Mr. Mason retired from DeCamp Bus Lines as a professional bus driver for many years and he worked for Fitz Vogt Food Service in Rutland delivering meals to seniors throughout the state.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New Jersey and the American Legion in Fair Haven and Poultney.

He enjoyed representing the American Legion Color Guard in local parades and in earlier years, deep-sea fishing at the Jersey Shore.

Survivors include two sisters, Rosemary McManus of Poultney and Margaret Meyer of Morris Plains, N.J., many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Mason was predeceased by a niece.

The graveside service will be at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Poultney Rescue Squad, PO Box 76, Poultney, VT 05764.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts-Aubin Funeral Home.
