    BENNINGTON — Phyllis L. Morrissey, 94, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at her residence.

    She was born in South Bend, Ind., Jan. 26, 1919, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Szalewski) Lukasiak, and received her education locally.

    She married Gerald E. Morrissey of Bennington, Aug. 31, 1940, in South Bend. Mr. Morrissey died in 2002.

    Mrs. Morrissey managed a large household, raised seven children and was also vice president of Gerald E. Morrissey Construction.

    She was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales parish.

    She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, especially the polka, Notre Dame sports, and was known for her homemade sausage.

    Survivors include five children, Walter of Bethlehem, Pa., Brian, Diane Daley, Rep. Mary Morrissey, all of Bennington, and Timothy of Bolton, Mass.; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Molly Pfuehler of Wisconsin; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

    Mrs. Morrissey was predeceased by two children, Jane Maloney and Gerald Morrissey.

    A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, followed by Mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church.

    Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

    Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the funeral home.
