What has happened to good old Yankee common sense? For the second time this winter school was cancelled the day before a storm because people listened to the weather report instead of waiting to see what Mother Nature had in store for them. Both days the children could have gone to school because either the storm didn’t amount to anything or it started up after school was out for the day.

Now these children have to make up “snow” days when they should be getting out for their summer vacation. The parents could have made arrangements in anticipation of a snow day. We live in Vermont, and snow is a part of winter that we have learned to deal with. Let’s not be so quick to listen to all the hype and use our common sense.
