An Oregon woman who allegedly led police on a high speed chase on Route 7 Monday was ordered not to drive under conditions imposed during her arraignment Tuesday.

Margaret A. Perry, 55, pleaded innocent in Rutland criminal court to misdemeanor charges of attempting to elude police and careless or negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Judge Theresa DiMauro set bail at $1,500 for Perry, who lives in Portland, Ore. She is expected to post that amount today, according to court records. The judge also ordered Perry not to drive any motor vehicle.

Rutland Police said that Perry was stopped Monday on North Main Street after she was clocked driving 13 mph over the posted 35 mph speed limit.

During the stop, Police Lt. Kevin Geno said Perry confronted him and told him repeatedly to use his gun to shoot her.

She then allegedly climbed back into her rental car and drove north on Route 7 at speeds exceeding 80 mph. Geno said he decided not to pursue Perry over the slick roads. She was later found in her vehicle parked off Furnace Road in Pittsford.
