    Good riddence yuppy flatlanders

The article in the paper about Vermont losing population growth was interesting to me. It stated that we lost 581 people in 2012 which was the first time in recent years that Vermont had a minus population growth. The article expressed a sort of concern over this as it appeared to be a result of the lack of job opportunities in Vermont. I didn’t quite see it that way myself.

According to the article, 1,726 people left the state in 2012 which makes the total population to be 626,592. I have a couple questions here and a comment. First, how many cows left the state in 2012 and what’s their total population? Second, who cares? If the flatlander, yuppy, Mr. Business Man types want leave our beautiful state to head out to the city to make a fast buck, so what, let ’em go and good riddance.

I think working towards the old days here in Vermont when there were more cows then people, should be our state plan, not creating more jobs for yuppies. Our concerns should be for our fellow, real Vermonters who grew up here and love our state and for our Vermont dairy farmers, not for Fast Buck Freddy.
