Progress is defined as the process of advancing toward a higher or better stage. Progress is not always steady, nor is it easy, but if we want true progress, we must continue moving forward.

In our almost 10 years of living in Rutland, we have seen the city move forward in many positive directions. Examples abound: the various solar installations, the newly completed first leg of the Creek Path, Friday Night Live, new businesses opening downtown, the expansion of the summer and winter farmers markets.

Rutland City is definitely moving in the right direction. And while many people deserve the credit, including the various grass-roots organizations that work tirelessly to better our community, we know that without strong city leadership, much of this would not be possible.

In order to continue our forward momentum, we need a leader who embraces progress. That is why we are voting for Chris Louras for mayor.
