Westside approves $400K bathroom bond

WEST RUTLAND — The Westside town hall will now have new bathrooms after a $400,000 bond was approved by voters.
Residents passed the 10-year bond by a 235 to 226 vote.
Elsewhere, residents also approved all money matters ,including the $1,101,006 town budget by a 302 to 154 vote and the $5,497,878 school district budget by 244 to 205. All other money articles and appropriations were approved by voters.
For the election of town officials, School Board incumbent Tom Callahan (216) held off four challengers and is joined by newcomer Blake Cushing (176) for two, one-year seats. Cushing unseated incumbent Michael Moser (154) and beat out challengers Peter Baird (155) and Maureen Warner-Blackmer (120).
There were no other contested races in West Rutland.
