I am so disheartened to see that our school budget failed. My daughter is in kindergarten at Middletown Springs Elementary School and has had a wonderful experience there so far. This is a phenomenal school, truly a close-knit learning community. The principal knows all of the students, and the teachers are truly caring. There are many days when my daughter actually gets a hug goodbye from her teacher. She returns home every day with enthusiastic tales of everything she did in school. She loves to go there and most importantly is comfortable and happy there. I feel that this school offers an extraordinary learning experience to these children. They are using excellent literacy and math programs, all the while nurturing caring, productive, and well-mannered children.

I am a teacher myself. We are in a time where the demands of our teachers and students have never been higher. How can it be justified to not support these demands with the necessary budget? When you live in a small town, the budget is going to be a bit higher compared to the number of students it serves, but the benefits far outweigh the costs. I urge everyone in town to visit this gem in Middletown Springs and see what they are offering our children. Anyone who does could surely see that the school budget deserves our support. When a re-vote occurs, please support our school. It truly is our biggest asset.
