    NORTH CHITTENDEN — Cornelius A. “Neil” Ward, 58, died unexpectedly March 18, 2013, at his home.

    He was born in Rutland, Jan. 17, 1955, son of Calvin J. and Marion (Peer) Ward.

    He was owner/operator of Logs to Boards Co.

    He was a hard working man in all aspects of logging, concrete, masonry and construction.

    A lover of nature, he was a true outdoorsman who was adventurous and informative.

    He was an avid hunter and held the 1989 Vt. State muzzle loading record for white-tailed deer.

    Neil was a maple syrup producer, master gardener and a member of the National Rifle Assn. He enjoyed fishing, especially the annual fishing derby with his close friend, Jasper.

    Surviving are his wife, Judith (Grabowski) Ward; a daughter, Katelyn Ward; a son, Jake Ward, all of North Chittenden; a brother, Michael Ward of Chippenhook; a sister, Bonnie Poirier of Pittsford; his beloved grandson, Calvin James Reynolds “B”; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

    Friends may call at the Clifford Funeral Home on Saturday, March 23, from 1 to 4 p.m.

    A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

    Memorial contributions mat be made to the National Rifle Assn. or to a charity of one’s choice, care of Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington St., Rutland, VT 05701.
