CHIPPENHOOK — Joyce Ann McConnell, age 70, passed peacefully with her family at her side, her rosary which gave her such solace in her hand, listening to her most comforting prayer.

Born in Newark, N.J., to Eleanor and John Baunhuber, she was the only daughter of 11 children.

She lived in Millburn, N.J., before retiring to Clarendon,VT.

She is survived by her husband Robert and their sons James, Stephen and Kevin, and her brother James. She has five grandchildren whom she adored.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, baking, prospecting, fishing, summers at Lake Willoughby, antiquing with her friends, and hitting the casinos. She was a Cub Scout den mother, active in the PTA, St. Patrick’s Rosary Society, and Green Mountain Treasure Hunters.

She was a kind, empathetic and caring lady, who loved her family and friends, unconditionally.

We will all miss her, but she shall remain forever in our hearts, in our thoughts, and in our prayers.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Wallingford-Aldous Funeral Home on North Main Street in Wallingford, Vermont.

The funeral service will be performed at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, in St. Patrick’s Church on North Main Street in Wallingford, Vermont. A reception will follow at St. Patrick’s Church Hall.
