GRANVILLE, N.Y. — Brian C. Ramey, 65, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Rutland, Vt., the son of Leon and Geraldine (Horton) Ramey.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1965 to 1968.
Mr. Ramey was a quarry worker for Newmont Slate for many years.
He was a Miami Dolphins fan, enjoyed target practice and gambling and was known as a master at numbers, particularly dates. In earlier years, he also enjoyed playing softball.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Hurley) Ramey; 12 children, Juliana Griffis of Florida, Wendy Tuttle of West Rutland, Vt., Tanya McDonald of Whitehall, Kimberly Ramey, Patricia Vance, Renee Burch, Brian Ramey III, Dixie Langlois, TJ Zovistoski, all of Granville, Frank Bolster of Fair Haven, Vt., Samantha Martelle of Wells, Vt., and Tanya Zovistoski of Corinth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Jon Ramey of Granville, Robert and Gary Ramey, both of Whitehall, E. Ross Ramey of New Hampshire, Lee Ramey of New Mexico, William and Rhea Corcoran, both of Ohio, and Diane Hopf of Rochester; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and four children, John Bolster, Brian Jr., Jennie and Albert Ramey.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St., Granville, N.Y., where friends may call from 2 p.m. prior to the service officiated by Jon Ramey and with military honors.
