faces new charge
A Castleton teenager charged along with two others in a vandalism spree that damaged more than 100 vehicles, businesses and homes in January has been charged with a new offense.
Cade M. Bowen, 17, pleaded innocent last week in Rutland criminal court to a misdemeanor charge of violating an abuse-prevention order by contacting a young woman by phone twice in February.
Bowen pleaded innocent Feb. 4 to almost two dozen counts of felony and misdemeanor counts of unlawful mischief — charges that are still pending.
Bowen, like fellow defendants Jacob P. Eells of West Rutland and Cody Vanguilder, 17, of West Rutland, was released on court ordered conditions.
Castleton Police said Bowen spoke to a 16-year-old girl twice by phone, violating an abuse-prevention order.
Bowen was freed on conditions from Rutland criminal court.
