College holds Jewish symposium
MIDDLEBURY — The 25th anniversary of the Quint Symposium in Jewish Studies will celebrate Jewish life in America this weekend.
Starting at 1 p.m. Sunday at Middlebury College’s McCardell Bicentennial Hall, the symposium will feature Professor Riv-Ellen Prell of the University of Minnesota. She will hold a presentation entitled “Women, Men and Families: the Axes of Jewish Cultural Change.”
Professor Ted Sasson of Middlebury College and Brandeis University will present “American Jews’ Changing Relationship to Israel.”
Professor Stephen Whitfield from Brandeis University will present “The Place of Jews in American Society.” Rabbi Michael G. Holzman of the Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation will present “The Joining Paradigm and the Future of Communal Life.”
